Le Mouton Rouge Knittery
Sandnes Garn Tynn Peer Gynt
Peer Gynt has been on the market since 1938 and the structure of the yarn means that it has been a favorite for cardigan knitting. Peer Gynt is still as popular a yarn today as it was then. In autumn 2022, we launched a thinner version of exactly the same yarn, with the same good properties. Garments made of Norwegian wool feel light, warm and get softer every time you wear them. Norwegian wool is durable, does not pill and has very good resilience, which means that garments retain their shape and form well over time. Consider the environment; wool breathes and rarely needs washing, we recommend airing the garment instead. Garments made of Norwegian wool have a long life and can be equally beautiful for several generations. This means that Norwegian wool can be included in a more sustainable consumption.
Peer Gynt and Thin Peer Gynt use the same fiber and are made in different thicknesses – Thin Peer Gynt is 3-ply yarn and Peer Gynt 4-ply yarn.
If washing in a machine, we recommend that all wool garments are washed separately on a wool program for the most gentle treatment. Spin well and dry the garment flat, preferably on top of a towel. Never use a laundry bag when washing hand-knitted woolen garments. This creates friction which can cause the garment to felt.
